I'm taking my first 8.01t (Physics I) class. My instructor is Wolfgang Ketterle. The Nobel laureate.

The class is taught in this cool lecture hall where we sit in small groups around computers, and the room is lined with projectors, chalk boards, and whiteboards.

Tonight, we went to the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium for the teacher recognition dinner. While we were there, it started raining. Raining. RAINING. There was a flash flood outside the building, and we were stranded. I don't mean a few inches of water. I don't mean a foot of water. I mean three feet of water. We had to wade through waist-high water to get to our bus, which fortunately was working. Well, one of the three busses, at least. It was quite an experience. Haz's car is probably totaled, because the water level was over his hood. Photos will eventually make their way to http://gallery2.comclub.org/v/misc/psp/flood/
